Job Profile Summary: The position assists in the acquisition of properties for capital projects and coordinates lease agreements with public and private entities.
Job Description Duties & Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL:
- Researches information, analyzes data, prepares reports and performs other miscellaneous duties as directed.
- Prepares and makes presentations to Board Committees, citizen and private interest groups and others, as required.
- Assists in negotiation and administration of leases of RTD owned property or property leased by the RTD including park-n-
Rides, bus shelter agreements, use of RTD facilities for events, vendor licenses and leases on any other miscellaneous RTD owned property..
- Researches title and cures title defects, as necessary, coordinating with title companies and county, state and federal records.
- Reviews and prepares documents necessary for the acquisition of property including the scheduling and coordination of real estate closings, relocations, leasing of property and/or easements.
- Negotiates with property owners and prepares documents to facilitate acquisition, sale, lease and relocation.
- Prepares, monitors and updates schedules for assigned projects.
- Coordinates property acquisition/relocation with appraisers, property owners, real estate consultants, title companies and outside agencies.
- Maintains files and records documents necessary for Property Management Programs.
OTHER:
- All other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Real Estate broker license, right-of-way certification, or equivalent.
- .A minimum of one year of experience with the coordination of property acquisition/relocation with appraisers, property owners, real estate consultants, title companies and outside agencies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of Uniform Relocation and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970, lease agreement components and contractual provisions, title commitments and policies, real estate closing procedures and real estate documents.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate with public and private entities.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; includes presentation skills.
- Ability to manage the workload effectively; includes planning, organizing, setting reasonable priorities and meeting deadlines.
- PC proficiency, including word processing and creating spreadsheets.
- Ability to use good judgment in making decisions.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse workforce.

- An equivalent combination of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics consistent with required qualifications.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The work environment is a typical office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.
