RTI International has multiple openings for a Bachelor’s-level Research Analyst to assist in analyses of innovative health and social policies, particularly within Medicare and Medicaid. As an Analyst, you will function as an integral part of a team supporting analytic activities and project coordination. The role includes opportunities to collaborate with senior research staff while developing an in-depth understanding of critical health policy issues and advanced methods. The position requires strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams. This position will be located in Waltham, MA, Research Triangle Park, NC, or Washington DC. Teleworking will also be considered.

Responsibilities will vary but may include the following:

  • Gain exposure to health care policy and health services research methods by attending internal RTI-sponsored presentations and learning seminars and job-related local workshops
  • Conduct literature reviews and environmental scans, and synthesize findings
  • Coordinate qualitative and quantitative research activities including stakeholder interviews, technical expert panels, and data collection pilot studies
  • Become familiar with large health related datasets including Medicare enrollment and claims data
  • Compile and manage analytic databases using database software
  • Assist with data analysis, data cleaning, file building, statistical modeling, measure calculation, writing detailed technical specifications, and creating tables and figures and writing analytic reports
  • Assist in developing and implementing processes to assure quality and accuracy of quantitative analyses
  • Manage correspondence and project communications and assist with other project management responsibilities including scheduling, preparing meeting agendas, and recording meeting minutes
  • Review and proof own work for accuracy and completeness
  • Working effectively as part of a team of mixed levels of technical skills and experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS (May 2022 graduates will be considered) in Public Health, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Public Policy, or a related field
  • A demonstrated interest in health services or health policy research
  • Quantitative and/or qualitative research experience or coursework
  • Experience with R, Python, SAS, SPSS, NVivo, and/or Stata
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below. Our pay ranges represent national averages and may vary by location as a geographic differential may be applied to some locations within the United States.
