The position of Chief/Principal Infrastructure Engineer will provide expert level support for a broad user base across multiple Government agencies and a variety of missions. The position is for full-time employment with RTL Networks, Inc. (RTL), providing on-site support to government customers.
Following is a general description of the work to be accomplished. Other duties may be identified as needs arise:
- Provide expertise to support Operations & Maintenance (O&M), day to day infrastructure sustainment, direct touch maintenance, and sustainment and provisioning.
- Analyze the IT architecture to satisfy existing and emerging needs for near, medium, and long-range planning (up to five years) using Department of Defense (DoD) and commercial standards.
- Develop and maintain work products in the form of IT roadmaps, strategic network plans, engineering configurations, rack elevations, bills of materials, and implementation plans.
- Use industry best practices to design, plan and implement solutions.
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing and developing Information Technology (IT) infrastructure solutions using Department of Defense (DoD) and commercial standards.
- Demonstrated experience in developing infrastructure products in the form of IT roadmaps, engineering configurations, rack elevations, floor plans, lists/bills of materials, and implementation plans.
- Demonstrated experience in designing, planning, implementing, management, developing/maintaining infrastructure diagrams and records, evaluation of the next product offering and strategic network planning activities.
- Knowledge and experience must include inside plant systems, outside plant systems, data centers, local and campus area networks, telecommunications systems and architectures, and bonding/grounding systems.
- 8140/8570 IAT II compliant.
- BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD).
- BA/BS in Civil Engineering, Engineering, or IT related discipline.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience supporting projects of similar size, scope, and complexity to the Task Duties described above.
- Additional 4 years relevant experience can be substituted for education.
Desired Skiills:
- MA/MS or equivalent in an IT or Engineering related discipline.
- Knowledge and experience with HVAC systems and auxiliary power systems.
- BICSI certifications in priority order:
- BICSI Technician
- BICSI Fiber
- BICSI Copper
