The Driver Compensation Manager oversees the planning, development, implementation and approval of new and revised driver compensation programs, policies, and procedures in order to be responsive to the company's goals and competitive practices. This role is responsible for helping to ensure that company driver compensation programs (Including those covered by a CBA) are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and various government regulations. Consults with operations leaders on driver pay issues and challenges related to new or changing business activities and regulations.

- Consult with operations leaders, pricing and design, and sales team members on establishing appropriate compensation packages (including variable pay programs) for new operations or redesign of current operations. Function as overall internal subject matter expert on driver compensation and related programs.
- Monitor various federal, state and local regulations regarding compliance issues related to driver compensation. Become point person for communicating any potential issues to appropriate internal contacts.
- Manage the approval/control process for driver pay changes to make sure the changes follow an agreed upon methodology or are approved by appropriate parties outside of the terminal location. Includes a significant role in a the coordination/transferring of information and invoicing that is linked to driver pay. (Such as; R2.0, P-Net, TMW, and ADP.)
- Responsible to develop consistent templates for the transparent communication and reporting of various pay packages to drivers for use in recruitment, information and compliance with regulations.
- Develop, complete and communicate appropriate and timely reports on driver compensation (trends, quality, retention, etc.).
- Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or equivalent work experience.
- 3 – 5 years of general or driver compensation experience or other general experience related to driver pay practices or compliance with various driver pay regulations preferred.
- Mathematical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills and abilities.
- Strong MS Office skills, including Word and Excel, and report writing capabilities are required.
- Demonstrated desire and ability to delve into projects and become expert in new areas.
- Self-directed and ability to work independently.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to influence and manage conflict with all levels of the organization.
- Must be able to interpret a variety of legislative guidelines and determine practical application of those guidelines.
