Rubbercraft (RCC) is seeking a Maintenance Manager who is responsible for supervising and overseeing Maintenance which includes the maintenance and repairs on a variety of machines and equipment, including preventative maintenance (Total Preventative Maintenance) tasks. This role will be responsible for operating mechanical, precision, and electrical tools with proficiency to properly complete repairs and modifications to machinery. This role will maintain and repair hydraulic presses, (specifically Panstone, Maplan, PHI, Fenco and Desma models), and other equipment such as Haas CNC, Royal Extruders and Despatch industrial ovens, assembly & test fixtures, physical building structures, electrical wiring, and plumbing. Ensures maintenance objectives are met including project costs, quality, safety factors and city permits.
In addition, this position is responsible for recruiting, selection, training, development, and supervision of staff.
Job Accountabilities:
· Oversee and manage maintenance personnel (e.g. assignment of duties, overseeing work performed by maintenance technicians, training maintenance technicians).
· Improve function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by studying performance results; identifying, recommending, and implementing changes, expansions, and additions.
· Participate in coordination of projects (e.g. renovations, purchase/removal of facility equipment).
· Lubrication/cleaning of machines.
· Troubleshoot machine down time and make suggestions for improvement.
· Monitor inventory of materials and equipment and order as needed.
· Research / identify information for parts, place purchase orders and handle invoices.
· Problem solve issues and suggest improvements, take action to close.
· Communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
· Coordinate with external maintenance/repair contractors or OEM service as necessary.
· Work in CAPEX process approval jointly with VP of Operations and obtain the best quotes in base in price, lead time and service.
Job Specifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or High School Diploma/GED, plus four (4) years relevant experience and appropriate certifications may be substituted for meeting educational requirement only; B.S. or Engineering degree is desirable
Years’ Experience: Seven (7) years’ Maintenance Management experience in a manufacturing environment required and three (3) years recent supervisory experience; Maintenance/Mechanical certification preferred.
Skills:
- Basic shop math.
- Experienced troubleshooting hydraulic presses and industrial ovens including blueprint/diagram reading (Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic).
- Knowledge of the operation / use of maintenance hand tools and machines including but not limited to: drill press, welders, lathe, saw, electrical multi-meter, precision micrometers, and calipers, etc
- Strong mechanical knowledge of production machinery including hydraulic presses and extrusion
- Basic use of MIG, gas, stick welders in fabrication and repairs.
- Basic carpentry and plumbing.
- Basic operation of production machines.
- Certified fork-lift driver – prior experience or certification.
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Team oriented and ability to lead teams.
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to multi-task.
- Demonstrated personal continuous improvement ( lean manufacturing training preferred)
