Job Summary
Join our creative, passionate team at Rubies II LLC, a leading Halloween costume and party product company that brings creativity and excitement to celebrations. You'll be working in a fast-paced environment alongside the current Design Director. In this role, you'll be responsible for creating a vast selection of products that extends well beyond Halloween helping people around the world celebrate holidays and special occasions from Easter to Mardi Gras, St. Patrick's Day to Christmas, New Year's Eve to bachelorette parties and everything in between. With costumes and accessories from the hottest licensed properties and our stellar in-house design team, Rubie's offers something for everyone in the family, even your pets!
Job Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and develop costume lines that align with current trends and market demands.
- Generate fresh and imaginative ideas for new costume designs.
- Stay in the know of fashion and Halloween trends to influence and guide costume design decisions.
- Bring your creative concepts to life through CADs, mood boards, and line sheets.
Job Requirements
- 4-year degree in fashion design or related creative fields.
- Proficient in garment construction, tech packs, and specs.
- Strong patternmaking skills.
- Hand illustration and CAD proficiency (Photoshop/Illustrator).
- Familiarity with standard office software.
- Sewing experience.
- Experience working with overseas factories.
- Product development/design for licensed properties.
- Passion for pop culture, Halloween, and costume industry experience.
- Understanding and love of Halloween culture, nerd culture, and fandom surrounding licensed products.
- Must be able to work full-time on-site at the Westbury, NY location 5 days each week.
