What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Coordinator position at Ruggable?
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Safety Coordinator to join our team in the Gardena, CA Location. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the overall safety and training initiatives throughout the facility. This position will work alongside other Safety, Leadership, Production and People team members to elevate our overall safety and training culture and accountability of both new and current team members. They will also monitor working conditions and resolve any safety issues that may arise. Furthermore, they will conduct safety investigations following accidents/incidents to discover root causes and ensure proper/sustainable corrective actions. What You’ll Do:
- Responsible for ensuring that employees are properly trained on internal and external (OSHA) safety standards
- Serve as point of contact for all safety related incidents on a 24/7 business operation
- Maintain an up to date database related to safety incidents, training, and organizational development programs
- Conduct root cause analysis for all injuries and near misses
- Partner with operations leadership to conduct thorough incident investigations and best practices
- Provide EOM overview/ feedback to leadership teams on needed safety improvements or recognition
- Provide daily safety reports to leadership team
- Monitor weekly audit program to document compliance with standards and program effectiveness
- Stay up to date on OSHA law and regulation standards
- Assist in the development and implementation of Ruggable’s Safety Program plantwide (LA,CHI,CLT)
- Certifies employees on mechanical equipment as needed
- Conduct new hire safety onboarding to ensure all employees understand the Company's safety emphasis and methods for performing work
- Performs appropriate emergency medical services according to level of certification and/or training; accompanies injured employees to the doctor as needed
- When needed, authorize medical care for injured employees
- Manage third-party consumable and PPE vendor
- Conduct monthly safety meetings, perform inspections and observe employee behaviors to identify risks and analyze corrective actions
- Stimulate and cultivate “a zero-incident mentality” throughout the facility
- Perform other related and assigned duties as necessary
