- Location: Huntington Beach, this is not a remote or hybrid position.
- Schedule: 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday.
- $25-$27 an hour with benefits! Excellent opportunity for growth.
The CMA will, under general supervision, perform a wide variety of tasks including outreach and engagement, intake assessment, insurance verification, tracking of medications, scheduling, invoicing, and general care coordination services. The client population includes those with addiction and substance abuse.
Duties will include:
- Conduct outreach to eligible patients or potentially eligible patients.
- Maintain case files on clients including assessment summaries, progress notes, treatment authorizations, referrals, and related correspondence with clients.
- Provide program information to clients and other potential business partners.
- Advise medical staff and physicians of information gathered during intake process; collect additional information as appropriate.
- Provide detailed care coordination and case management services to ensure clients continued engagement and progress on their recovery journey.
- Establish and maintain relationships with providers and other partners in the community for the referral and care of behavioral health/addiction related needs.
- Manage scheduling for patients, tracking confirmations, reschedules.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
What you will need:
- Minimum 3 years related work experience in addiction, recovery, chemical dependency, substance abuse, alcohol use disorder, drug, opioid use disorder (OUD).
- Medical experience helpful: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant (MA), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Medical Assisted Treatment (MAT).
- Experience as NCAC, CSAC, CCAPP, AOD, CADC, CAADE, CAC, CAS may be used as experience, although this is not a counseling position.
- Prior experience in a contact center or care delivery environment.
- Initiative-taker with high attention to detail and exceptional written & verbal communication skills via phone, text, chat, and email.
- Commitment to customer empathy and passion to achieve goals, with adaptability to think outside-the-box to address potential roadblocks & issues.
- Collaborative, data-driven team-player with openness to receive and provide constructive feedback focused on continuous improvement.
- Comfort with computer technology, maximizing use of available resources, and navigating multiple software platforms including EMR.
Knowledge of:
- Various models of treating addiction, including medication assisted treatments, and the use of medications to treat substance use disorders.
- How to collaborate effectively with individuals related to substance use.
- Prevention methods and treatments procedures related to alcohol and drug disorders, mental and emotional illness, and personality disorders.
- Resources/strategies for the client for purpose of referral.
- Basic case management processes.
- Federal and State confidentiality and privacy regulations including HIPPA.
Skill/Ability to:
- Assess client's immediate needs and ensure client's receipt of needed services.
- Interview clients and other professionals for gathering information.
- Perform effectively in stressful, emotional, and confrontational situations.
- Recognize factors causing reactions or changes in clients' condition or behavior.
- Obtain, maintain, and present accurate client data.
- Communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
- Secure pertinent social and personal data and meet documentation requirements.
- Evaluate information received and make appropriate treatment recommendations and/or referrals.
- Provide high quality clinical case documentation.
- Strong computer skills, MS Excel and EMR.
