Overview
The Payroll Analyst performs payroll accounting and administrative duties to support the Payroll department. The ideal candidate can use payroll software with accuracy and efficiency and will be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel. The position will provide all payroll reporting to operations and accounting. They will also assist in processing payroll by providing excellent customer service, assisting with payroll filing, participating in daily data-entry, and providing excellent customer service to internal and external contacts. Responsibilities
- Produce a variety of Excel reports for internal and external customers including overtime, payroll earnings, deductions, and tax reports, and conducting analysis of payroll reports to develop recommendations to increase efficiency
- Assist Accounting Department with month end payroll reports, complete monthly bank reconciliation for payroll bank account, and provide weekly and monthly wage reports to managers and supervisors
- Oversee E-Verify process companywide by performing daily audit reports, ensuring inaccurate information is corrected in both E-Verify and the HR system, assisting with E-Verify and Form I-9 inquiries, providing admin support and training, and preparing monthly performance reports
- Assist with all activities of payroll, including providing support for payroll processing activities, researching employee payroll questions and paycheck issues/errors, and helping identify opportunities to improve processes to be more efficient
- Act as the back-up to the Payroll Clerk by assisting with payroll, maintaining data integrity, and managing the Employee Self Service (ESS) system
- Responsible for assisting with the Leave of Absence process companywide including reviewing eligibility, obtaining required documentation, issuing premium payment schedules, applying accrued paid time, verifying return to work details, and tracking leave days used
- May be required to cross train and perform other duties
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years of relative experience and a relative bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Accounting background
- Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Effectively meet time constraints and agency deadlines
- Ability to participate in our online applicant and new hire onboarding process remotely
- Ability to complete computer-based training
