Job Summary
The Driver is responsible for all off-site patient pick-ups and drop-offs.
Job Specific Requirements
- Assumes responsibility for completion of all assignments given out during the working day
- Assumes responsibility for making pick-ups from off-site vendors and making deliveries to the appropriate unit
- Assumes responsibility for mandatory cleanliness of vehicles' interior as well as taking vehicles in for a weekly car washing
- Assumes responsibility for the same as a regular Security Officer at the request of a supervisor
- Assumes responsibility for transporting administrators as approved by Transportation Coordinator or Director of Security
- Assumes responsibility for transporting leased or owned vehicles for regular service appointments
- Assumes responsibility for transporting mail to and from local post offices on a daily basis, as well as delivering mail
- Assumes responsibility for transporting specimens from and to Medical Center labs,
- Assumes responsibility for transporting specimens from the following areas: off-site blood banks, area airports Newark, JFK, LaGuardia, and area hospitals
- Demonstrates willingness to be flexible with unplanned assignments, as necessary
- Maintains a daily log which includes the following: the condition of the vehicle s interior and exterior, any engine problems, and all assignments called out during the working day
- Operates vehicles in a safe and lawful manner
Job Qualifications
- Must possess a valid New Jersey driver's license
- Must possess a general knowledge of the New York and New Jersey roadways
- Successful completion of all Orientation Programs
