Job Summary:
The LPN is a technical caregiver who administers nursing care under the direct supervision of a registered professional nurse. LPN maintains exam rooms and equipment. Assures an orderly flow of patients to be seen by the Physician and NP. Functions include being part of the patient care team in efforts to achieve goals established for both the individual patient and the clinical service. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Documentation
- Group facilitation
- Assisting with ADLs
- Medication administration
- Vital signs and blood glucose monitoring
- Ensuring a safe milieu through safety rounds and 1:1 observation
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduated from an accredited program of Practical Nursing
- LPN Certfication
- Licensed by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Maintains required Heart Saver CPR Certification/course completion status
- Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills
- Prior experience in a behavioral health setting helpful
