RxSight® is an ophthalmic medical technology corporation headquartered in Aliso Viejo, California that has commercialized the worlds first and only adjustable intraocular lens (IOL) that is customized after cataract surgery. The companys mission is to revolutionize the premium cataract surgery experience by allowing surgeons to partner with their patients to achieve optimized results for every unique eye.
OVERVIEW:
The LAL Shift Supervisor reporting to the LAL Manufacturing Manager will focus on effective communication and dissemination of information to/from the manufacturing team and management, as well as overseeing daily production activities. The Shift Supervisor will be subject to immediate training in manufacturing processes for which they will oversee. The Shift Supervisor is expected to support production flow to meet company production quotas, timelines, and quality standards. A shift supervisor performs planning, manages employee scheduling, supervises organization of daily manufacturing activities, and supplies resolution to any complications that may arise in processing. The Shift Supervisor is in direct communication and supplied support by the Production Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manufacturing Process:
This individual will interact with the other functions including but not limited to Engineering, Quality, Chemist and R&D. It is expected that this individual will have the depth and breadth of experience to contribute to the oversight of overall manufacturing of the LAL lenses.
- As the overseer of effective communication within the manufacturing team, the LAL Shift Supervisor is tasked with ensuring seamless information flow between management, process coordinators, and technicians. This encompasses various responsibilities, such as:
- Generating and issuing weekly task schedules, updating them as necessary,
- Communicating scheduled time off or recovery plans for absent employees,
- Posting and updating job orders and conveying special processing requirements to team members.
- Hosting daily start-up meetings to foster open communication.
- Approves weekly timecards, as well as monitoring, scheduling, and approving PTO requests.
- Daily, the LAL Shift Supervisor is expected to conduct check-ins with each team member to promptly address their immediate needs. Furthermore, they are to hold monthly one-on-one meetings with each team member to discuss a range of topics, including employee and management needs, requirements, goals, personal development, and supply a private forum for team members to address management concerns.
- Oversees and organizes training activities with the aid of process guides to ensure that technicians progress in line with production goal timelines.
- Take charge of organizing and overseeing timely execution of various production activities, including haptic production and inspection, molding silicone lenses, deflashing of lenses and haptics, testing and cleaning of lenses, processing injector cartridges, and packaging of products and accessories.
- Owner of manufacturing process flow, setting expectations for rate per hour at each workstation and working to ensure each employee meets minimum throughput requirements.
- Taking ownership of the implementation and execution of manufacturing procedures, ensuring that direct reports and trainees fulfill their daily responsibilities. This involves issuing work orders based on manufacturing plans, monitoring inventory levels, and placing orders as needed to meet production requirements. Coordination and interaction with other departments are essential to fulfill production, development, and compliance needs.
- Actively taking part in process improvement initiatives, i.e., collaborating with engineering to perform tests, gather test data, and record results according to manufacturing requirements. Contributing to the organization and execution of validation protocols.
- Support the management of vendors (vendor managed inventory) and consultants to ensure prompt, high-quality deliverables within budget.
- Plays a key role in the completion of annual performance reviews and compensation awards.
- To meet production ramp-up goals, address process inefficiencies, take part in hiring processes, and contribute to the development of personnel skillsets and talents. This includes conducting interviews, setting, and monitoring training progress and cross-training employees to ensure coverage for all manufacturing efforts.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:
- Minimum of Associate degree or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience on medical devices.
- 5 years experience in supervising a production line.
- Experience and ability to lead Health Safety & Environmental issues.
- Training to be completed per the training plan for this position as maintained in the document control system
- The training requirements on TRN-10007 Insider Trading Policy, TRN-10008 Global Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy and TRN-10009 Code of Business Conducts and Ethics must be diligently completed within 30 days from the hiring date and on an annual basis

SALARY RANGE:
- $80,000 To $90,000 Per Year
