As the Lean Transformation Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving process improvement initiatives, training and development, and performance management. Your focus will be on fostering a culture of continuous improvement and problem-solving within the organization
Other tasks – but not limited to, are:
- Lead and drive the implementation of Lean principles throughout the organization.
- Develop and execute Lean strategies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and workflows
- Design and deliver training programs on Lean methodologies.

- Lead problem-solving initiatives, applying Lean tools and methodologies.
- Collaborate with teams to address challenges and implement sustainable solutions.
As our Lean Transformation Manager, your qualifications should ideally be:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree within supply chain, engineering, or quantitative discipline combined with relevant lean experience.
- 7 years of hands-on experience in Lean Management, including Process Improvement, and organizational transformation, preferably in an environment with both manufactured and sourced finished goods.
- Demonstrated success in leading Lean initiatives with measurable positive impacts.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is a plus
- Experience of working in an international, multi-cultural environment
- In-depth understanding of modern manufacturing, material flow, and improvement strategies.
- Solid grasp of financial systems and key drivers within a manufacturing environment.
Also, they absolutely NEED to come from a manufacturing environment . We are in a very niche type of industry. We are looking for someone that will be hands on with cross functional teams. “Not afraid to be hands on.” Further, they must be coming with practice, not a theory person. Not looking for someone that is a teacher, we need someone that can express their accomplishments, proven successes in their previous positions.
- Excellent technical knowledge. It is essential that the lean supervisor be an expert in the work over which they have responsibility. They must know the processes involved inside out.
- Knowledge of job roles. Part of their interface with management requires an understanding of the HR side of each job role. Do you know the company policies or other rules of the workplace? Do they know how to work with cross-functional teams? Engineering? Operations? HR? Finance? Sales? Production? Marketing?
- A Kaizen Master. It probably goes without saying but the lean supervisor should have a strong understanding of the skills in the lean toolkit. Things like Plan-do-check-act (PDCA) and 5S should be comfortable for the strong lean transformation manager.
- Leadership skills. The line manager is arguably the most important in any organization as they set the tone for the entire organization. If you want the right culture, you need your lean transformation managers to be excellent leaders.
- A superb coach. Coaching is possibly the most under-rated in the manager's toolkit, with many managers enforcing their will by fear rather than engagement. If you can teach your charges however then you are well on the way to becoming an excellent lean manager.
