Plans and manages the general health, safety, and loss control policies and procedures for the organization.Responsibilities / Functions : Assists with implementation of safe work practices as part of
the Company’s overall Health and Safety programEnsures compliance with Company, client and governmental regulationsOnboards and orients
all employees to the
Company’s
safety
policies, programs and other
practicesInteracts
constantly with
project personnel to ensure an open line communication for effective safety management and engagement of personnelConducts comprehensive on-site safety assessments as part of
constant monitoring process
and ensures project teams make all necessary correctionsAdministers the
Company’s
Substance Abuse Policy
which includes client and governmental requirementsDevelops
Site Specific Health and Safety
Plan s
and communicates

to all project personnelDevelops and provides effective safety training to all employeesCoordinates
review of Company

requirement s with subcontractorsCompletes Accident Investigation
as needed; may accompany an injured employee for treatment and medical evaluationManages claims processes including interaction with insurance carriers, 3 rd
party claimants, and medical facilitiesParticipates in pre-construction and handoff meetingsE stablishes
and enforces
jobsite safety proceduresWorks closely with Company’s Safety Team to ensure consistent implementation of safety processes across all projectsInteracts with insurance carrier’s loss control representatives and client safety representative during site safety assessmentsArranges for basic first aid training for jobsite personnelMaintains safety files and recordsPerforms additional
safety
assignments , as neededEssential skills and experience : 4 year occupational safety / health degree
or equivalent combinations of training and related experienceA minimum of
ye ars construction safety experience (highway / civil preferred)Thorough understanding of and ability to enforce all federal, state, local, and Company regulationsAbility to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measuresExcellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skillsAbility to train and educate others;
train the trainer courses a plusOSHA

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch;
- and see and hear well (either naturally or with correction), stand; walk, (stand for long periods of time) handle, or feel;
use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects. The employee must frequently work or walk on uneven ground and is required to wear steel toed boots at all times.
It is mandatory that the employee wear approved personal protective equipment. Employee will perform a variety of duties while exposed to outside elements, working at heights, and confined or enclosed spaces.
