S&D Auto & Truck is a family-owned business that has been in operation for over 20 years. We pride ourselves on being able to fix any and all of our customers’ automotive needs.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Truck Body Shop Technician to join our growing team.

An ideal candidate should have:

• A high school diploma or GED
• A valid driver’s license
• Proven experience in automotive repair
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent time management
• The ability to work independently or as a part of a team
• Good customer service skills

Responsibilities:

• Repairs automotive bodies by removing, fabricating, attaching, and aligning parts, repairing dents, filling and sealing depressions, hammering, shaping, shrinking, expanding, filing, grinding, sanding, smoothing and feather edging surfaces; painting.
• Examines and evaluates damaged vehicles to plan for efficient repairs according to established standards.
• Communicates with management and team members regarding vehicle repair status through all phases.
• Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised completion/delivery time.
• Maintains tools and equipment in good working order. Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. Ensures that the work area is organized, clean and free of safety hazards.
• Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including eye protection.
• Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles, often dependent upon schedule and area of expertise.
• Able to lift 50-75 lbs.

Must have your own tools.

Compensation based on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.96 - $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Pawtucket, RI 02860: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Auto body repair: 1 year (Preferred)
