What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Technician position at S&L Integrated?
General Description:
The Service Technician will provide service/repair support for audio, video, and lighting integrated systems in commercial venues, houses of worship, governmental buildings and other businesses throughout the country.
Essential Job Duties:
- Troubleshoot client service requests for AV equipment.
- Gather and organize equipment, parts and tools needed for each service call.
- Interact with clients to clearly define their problems/issues, the plan to fix these issues and the final resolutions.
- Provide daily updates to the Technical Services Director.
- Make sure extra equipment and parts get back into inventory.
- Keep track of personal timecard which includes clocking in and out of the correct job assignment.
- Properly log all work in Q360 providing details of time spent on the service calls.
- Help clean and straighten up the shop and company vehicles.
- Other duties of a similar nature and level may also be assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must possess excellent customer service skills.
- CTS certification preferred. Employee is required to obtain within first 6 months of employment.
- Experience installing, integrating, setting up and performing basic programming for Commercial Pro-AV systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills of all audio video installations down to component level.
- General understanding of control systems, audio and video signal systems.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting of video conferencing systems, commercial displays, video walls and projectors.
- Proficient in the ability to read and decipher blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
- Must have clean driving record and ability to pass background checks and drug tests for project security clearance at all times as requested by customers and clients.
- Must be able to travel to job sites throughout the country.
- The ability to work from elevated heights and lift heavy equipment.
- Basic low voltage electrical knowledge.
Physical demands and work environment:
Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, use hands and fingers, reach and push with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit, climb and balance. Work requires ability to perform job duties on scaffolding, ladders and at various heights as well as extensive overhead motion required in order to install equipment. Work requires ability to lift fifty pounds on a daily basis and be exposed to warm and cold environments. Clean driving record, background check, and drug testing required.
