Application/Tools Software Engineer

Responsibilities

Sabre Systems is hiring for an Application/Tools Software Engineer to support one of our government customers, Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) at China Lake, CA.  The selected candidate will need the following skills and knowledge of:

• SW test design, test conduction, participating in code reviews
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Work and apply Agile principles
• SW Architecture design, development, and maintenance
• Continuous Integration and Continuous Development
• SW maintenance and refactoring of SW for efficient SW execution in processors
• Configuration management

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, CE, EE, Mathematics, or Engineering is required, a Master’s Degree is preferred
• Three (3) years of experience in systems engineering, test and evaluation, and/or analysis
• Experience with:
  • Developing SW on Windows and Linux systems
  • C/C /C#/Java/Java Script/Web and Mobile Development Languages
  • Object Oriented Design Principles, Design Patterns, and UML
• Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain an maintain an Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
• Must be a US Citizen and be able to pass a background investigation

Highly Desired:

• Five (5) years of experience with software engineering and SW design/Architecture development
• Security Certification

Experience with:

• Aircraft embedded systems and 1553 bus messaging
• Developing and debugging in a RTOS environment (VxWorks 653 preferred)
• Aircraft Operational Flight Programs (OFPs)
• VAPS/VAPS XT
• Sensor engineering
• TSP/PSP
• Microservices
• Leading software projects
• Software planning
• Technical presentations

• Understanding of:
  • DevSecOps Concepts and/or practices
  • CMMI
  • Agile, Scrum, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Cloud Computing
  • Containers
  • ADA and Fortran

Ability to:

• Write graphical user interfaces (WinForms, WPF, Python)
• Lead SW design, development, integration, and test
• Lead code reviews
• Perform fault isolation and corrections
• Work in a high collaborative environment
• Collaboratively work through issues with third party vendors’ products
