POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director, in cooperation with the
Producer/Technology Specialist, and following SECC established protocol, this position’s primary responsibility is the management, oversight and implementation of SECC’s production assets including video production for SECC and its membership. The Production Manager will coordinate all facets of production from concept development, contractual agreements, crew scheduling, production implementation, post-production editing and timely delivery of the program. The Production Manager will be responsible for assisting in the continued expansion and support of member SEVA Labs and will work cooperatively with all SECC Team Members and membership to successfully implement and expand SECC’s mission and goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all SECC productions ensuring projects are thoroughly completed within designated timelines.
- Coordinate with membership to implement the vision and production of their Partner in
- Production videos including coordination of pre-production meetings to establish roles of partners in production, the production outline, plan, costs, and project timeline.
- Establish mutually agreed upon benchmarks for completion of projects.
- Actively participate and collaborate with the Producer and Technology Specialist, when applicable, during the production process ensuring the production aligns with them mission and goals of the requesting SECC Member. This will include concept development, treatment and script development, video production shooting and implementation, procurement of props, talent, graphics, photos, music, narrative sequences, and releases.
- Following SECC established procedures, direct, operate and set up single camera/multicamera studio and field production video, audio and lighting event coverage, documentation and video segments for recorded and "live" origination.
- Act as editor and in post-production capacities, ensuring consistency in style and tone and high technical standards for editing, color correction, graphics, captions, and final delivery of multimedia projects.
- Ensure documentation for productions are collected and filed including releases, letters of agreement, insurance documentation, and facility contracts.
- Oversee maintenance of multimedia assets, including a library of video content, and complete preventative maintenance and repair for field equipment and post-production facilities.
- Keep up to date with trends in visual storytelling and work to incorporate them into a range of communication and media efforts.
- Maintain and oversee operations of SECC Production Van and manage regular maintenance of the vehicle.
- Under the supervision of the Associate Executive Director, oversee equipment purchases, track budgeting, and prepare production budgets.
- Track inventory, ensuring insurance amounts are updated annually and end of life equipment is removed.
- Spearhead development of new projects that further SECC and SECC Membership’s missions.
- Assist in technical support for SECC staff and facilities.
- Collaborate with Associate Executive Director on SEVA Lab support and expansion.
- Responsible for other tasks and special projects as needed by the SECC team for implementation of SECC goals including general office, programming, and promotional activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Commitment, dedication and enthusiasm for SECC vision and goals.
- College degree (AA or BA) in video production, communications, or related field.
- Four years of relevant production and post-production experience.
- Four years of production and crew management.
- Three years of project management experience.
- Demonstrated competence and experience in single and multi cam productions and knowledgeable of all equipment.
- Must be team focused, receptive to feedback, and work well with colleagues.
- Proven ability to deliver professional quality video, audio and motion graphics with demonstrated expertise in video post-production.
- Expert in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop. Experience with Dropbox, Office 365, Google Apps, social media, and live streaming technologies preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, manage deadlines, and follow post-production media management protocol.
- Experience in technical problem solving and support.
- A current and comprehensive portfolio is required.
JOB PROFILE:
Full time position with benefits including sick leave, vacation, 401K, health insurance. A car, valid California driver's license required with good driving record and auto insurance, mileage reimbursed. Physical demands include occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, some stooping, bending, and squatting. Ability to safely drive SECC production van.
