What are the responsibilities and job description for the Google Cloud Trainee position at SADA?
Your Mission
As a Google Cloud Trainee at SADA, you will learn to work collaboratively to deliver infrastructure projects on Google Cloud Platform for our customers. You will have an opportunity to participate in workshops, hands-on labs and learning materials and also work on real-world problems facing our customers in the field. Educational opportunities reflect the needs of our practice teams and customers' engagements.
Engagements vary from being purely consultative to requiring hands-on work, and cover a range of domain areas, such as workload migrations from on-prem or other clouds to GCP, standing up infrastructures on GCP, building solutions on top of Kubernetes and Anthos, and developing CI/CD pipelines. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to learn to provide thought leadership, delivering best practice recommendations internally and externally.
You will be given a chance to develop a diverse basic background in areas such as architecture design, distributed systems, infrastructure migration, and deployment strategies. To be successful, one must learn to know how to navigate ambiguity, have some basic familiarity working with cloud technologies, have basic technical understanding, and enjoy working with customers.
You will market & advocate for yourself internally and externally to accomplish your goals in technical and business areas. You will strive to be recognized as a welcome additional contributor by your team. You will learn to contribute design and implementation components for multiple projects. You will also learn to participate in client-facing discussions in areas of expertise.
Upon completion of the training and capstone project, you will join a practice team as a Junior Google Cloud Engineer. This cohort will be App Dev focused and will support delivery team projects. During the program, you will be expected to hit 30/60/90 day benchmarks successfully. If benchmarks are not successfully met, you will not continue on as a Cloud Engineer at SADA.
Pathway to Success
#MakeThemRave is at the foundation of every project our engineering teams take on. Our singular goal is to provide customers with the best possible experience in migrating, building, modernizing, and operationalizing their systems in Google Cloud Platform.
Your success starts by positively impacting the direction of a dynamic practice with vision and passion. You will be measured quarterly by the breadth, magnitude, and quality of your contributions, your ability to estimate accurately, customer feedback at the close of projects, how well you collaborate with your peers, and the consultative polish you bring to customer interactions.
As you continue to execute successfully, we will build a customized development plan together that leads you through the engineering or management growth tracks.
Expectations
Customer Facing - Initially you will not have a customer facing role during training. You may gradually be introduced to customer engagements that you are permitted to attend during the course of the training and shadowing sessions. Once engaged in real practice, you will interact with customers on a regular basis, sometimes daily, other times weekly/bi-weekly. Common touchpoints occur when qualifying potential opportunities, at project kickoff, throughout the engagement as progress is communicated, and at project close. You can expect to interact with a range of customer stakeholders, including engineers, technical project managers, and executives under supervision of senior members of the practice.
