Responsibilities: Proofread technical documents generated by the engineering team for spelling, grammar, and punctuation; Rewrite text with authoring engineers to improve clarity and readability while maintaining industry standard vernacular; Assist with coordinating the signoff and release of documents to the FAA-approved document management system; Improve existing style guides, create document templates, and develop on-boarding materials to improve the productivity of all staff writing technical document; Identify opportunities to take advantage of automation to improve efficiency of the document creation and review process.
Skills and Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, applied science, mathematics, engineering or related field; Detail oriented writing and editing skills with experience as a technical writer or editor; Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Word including features such as defining styles and managing complex templates; Familiarity in other tools for creating digital documents such as LaTeX and automated document linting is preferred; Interest in aviation and aviation technology is recommended.
