Job Summary
The Supply Chain Buyer is responsible for the planning and purchasing of raw materials supporting all productions operations as well as the direct purchase of assigned finished goods. This position will manage select suppliers to ensure on-time delivery at competitive pricing while managing appropriate inventory levels in alignment with SIOP processes to prevent shortages and maximize turns. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Planning & Supply Chain. This is a full-time onsite role in Harrisburg, NC until early 2024 when the position will be located in our brand new Huntersville, NC facility.
Essential Job Functions
- Source and purchase assigned products, ensuring proper documentation, internal (ERP or manual purchase requisitions/approvals) and external (specifications/drawings) are provided to suppliers. Ensure product meets required specifications including but not limited to BAA/TAA government compliance.
- Proactively minimize the impact of material shortages (due to suppliers or otherwise) by sourcing for alternative suppliers or components that may be a fi/substitution for the items on order/backorder.
- Manage suppliers to ensure: on-time delivery, product lead times, capacity planning (both short-/long-term growth opportunities) and ensure timely flow of communication.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure performance metrics are being met within quality, delivery and cost guidelines of the business, as well as manage risks associated to the supplier base and maintain a current approved vendor list.
- Identify and resolve issues related to Microsoft Dynamics (D365) MRP and other modules.
- Coordinate with receiving, quality and accounts payable on resolving all issues regarding purchase orders and delivery discrepancies or deviations.
- Maintain purchase order details in D365 system as an accurate communication (internally/externally) of updated dates for latest delivery and availability of goods.
- Support data management business initiatives and processes.
- Develop mutually beneficial, respectful, and effective relationships with peers to ensure seamless coordination between departments, maximize synergy and maintain a shared vision, strategy, and focus.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or another related field.
- 3-5 years of supply chain experience, preferably working with and/or in a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth understand of MRP concepts with experience researching data to identify alternate solutions.
- Knowledge of key inventory indicators, safety stock levels, inventory turns.
- Be a “hands on” leader with strong problem-solving skills and attention to details.

Physical Requirements
