Weekend and Night Shift Available
Mission Statement:
To empower & advocate for victims & survivors of domestic, dating & sexual violence & work towards a violence free community.
Objectives of Position:
1.To support & empower shelter residents in healing from domestic, dating and/or sexual violence by providing a quality service that is victim/survivor-centered & trauma informed.
2.To provide early intervention to victim/survivors of domestic, dating & sexual violence, both in person & through the hotline or TTY with a view to reduce post-traumatic effects.

Key Tasks:
1.Complete intake & exit forms, risk assessments, safety plans & related paperwork including surveys & evaluations as required or requested by agency & in accordance with confidentiality policies for residential & non-residential victims/survivors.
2.Maintain accurate records for shelter residents.
3.Maintain shelter cleanliness, organization & readiness for shelter residents.
4.Provide information, support & referrals about community resources & support services to shelter residents.
5.Provide scheduled transportation for shelter residents to community resources & support service agencies.
6.Cover the Hotline & TTY , answering in a timely manner.
7.Oversee the management of the shelter including housing & support services provided to residents, maintenance & donations.
8.Support & empower clients to develop & work towards achieving individual & family goals.
9.Attend & participate in scheduled supervision meetings with Housing & Support Services Coordinator as required.
10.Attend & participate in scheduled staff and team meetings as required.
11.Participate in rotating on-call coverage in accordance with agency policy.
Reporting:
1.Directly to the Housing Supervisor as required.
2.Complete required VAData forms for each victim/survivor & correctly enter into VAData system.
3.Complete & file required SAFEHOME paperwork in accordance to agency policy & procedures.
4.Annual performance review.
5.Attend regular supervision meetings as per supervision policy.
6.Attend staff & team meetings as requested or required.
7.Timesheet accounting for hours worked.
8.Complete other paperwork as requested by Housing Supervisor or Executive Director.
Performance Standards:
1.Performance standards will be regularly reviewed during supervision processes. Any concern will be fully discussed with the employee.
2.An annual performance review will be completed as per policy requirements.
Training:
1.Attend & complete Safehome Systems Volunteer Training (32 hours total.)
2.Complete job induction training.
3.Complete 20 hours Continuing Education annually as identified by employee or Survivor Services Director.
4.On-going & pro-active development of knowledge, skills & personal qualities.
Person Specification:
Practical
1.Current driver’s license & reliable vehicle.
2.Ability to work with VAData system.
3.All paperwork & database entry are completed accurately, in accordance with policy & funder requirements, appropriately & in a timely manner.
4.Must submit to a thorough criminal background check & have no arrests/citations for crimes against children, sexual offenses, domestic violence, theft or any other felony or serious misdemeanors.

Qualifications
1.High School or GED.
Experience
1.At least one-year experience in domestic or sexual violence field preferred.
