POSITION OVERVIEW The Director of People will partner with the business and People and Leadership Development team to drive the people strategy and all issues related to organizational design, talent management, performance management and workforce planning. Lead and support the People Business Partner teams, business leaders and field management teams regarding all associate and labor relations matters, including the negotiation, administration, interpretation of the company’s collective bargaining agreements (as needed) to ensure the company maintains effective and aligned associate relations across all locations. Is proactive to ensure its union free locations remain as a premier employer of choice. The Director of People is a member of the People Leadership team and will participate in meetings and represent PLD in that capacity to the business. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Enhance Organizational Capability Providing strategic partnership with the field organization to support overall operational effectiveness and division performance. Partnering with field leadership to assess leadership capability and ensure development and succession plans are in place to support current and future business requirements. Proactively seeking new ways of doing things to deliver better business results and effectively leading organizational change. Participates as a key member of the RVPs leadership team. Drives satisfaction with national People strategies and initiatives across the Field Builds Field deployment strategies for new People initiatives and communicates with operators to ensure successful execution Act as a strategic partner to business leaders to ensure functional alignment with the business go to market strategies and strategic initiatives. Partner with business to develop and execute the people strategy including implementing the talent management process to identify and develop top talent and utilize succession planning tools. Identify capability gaps in current workforce and set strategies to address business needs. Lead and develop a team of People Business Partners to support front line leader objectives and execution. Deliver Outstanding Functional Leadership Create succession for PLD and the business to provide opportunity to develop more well-rounded leaders. Collaborates with COEs to execute on recruiting goals, and staffing priorities Leverages data and analytics to uncover insights about employee engagement and opportunities to enhance retention and satisfaction Resolves escalated initiative concerns and implementation roadblocks Cultivates strong associate relations to foster an inclusive, safe, and positive people culture Champions company culture and communicates key messaging and attitudes operators. Oversees, coaches, and evaluates Field People Business Partners to ensure exceptional results and execution of Field People initiatives Manage, train and develop the People Business Partner team; Ensure that developing People Business Partner talent remains a top priority and while fostering a healthy sense of accountability throughout the business. Develop assess and retain talented People team members who are well leveraged to support growth initiatives while serving as critical business partners for managers and as accessible, positive resources for all employees. Analyze associate data (turnover, associate satisfaction, exit interviews, monthly scorecards) to enhance and improve People programs and initiatives. Proactively minimizes legal risk to Company and helps drive labor strategy to align and achieve business strategic goals. Manages the Company's response to union organizing drives; provides union vulnerability assessments and union avoidance training. Works with the leadership team to establish a strategy for negotiations. Conducts negotiations. Hears and resolves grievances. Prepares for and assists in arbitrations. Develops and administers exit interview process; identifies trends and works with PLD and management team to address voluntary turnover issues. Creates, develops and drafts policies, procedures and programs and ensures compliance; maintains and updates the People Guide Handbook in collaboration with the AVP of People. Ensures the organization is compliant with all applicable Federal/State/Local Laws. Maintains confidentiality of financial information, insurance and litigation documents, employee information (e.g. wage information, discipline, health information) and other sensitive and confidential information. ATTRIBUTES / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS The selected candidate will be a highly inspiring, credible and experienced business leader with proven capability to drive results across their market. Specifically, the Associate Relations Partner will have the following attributes, experiences and qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred   10 – 15 years’ experience in Human Resources (Generalist) in a retail, manufacturing, or equivalent environment Minimum 5 years HR leadership experience leading an HR Generalist Team. Has passion, high energy, ability to energize others, is hard working and has a high level of integrity Experience in handling associate relations issues and dealing with labor laws Well-developed written presentation, organization, and editing skills Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Strong collaboration skills and the ability to contribute within a team setting Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment Pro-active and solution oriented Builds trust; connects with people; likeable, high confidence, low ego, coachable Demonstrated ability to influence and achieve results through others Self-motivated with outstanding planning, prioritization, and time-management skills -- Internal Associates: Already a member of the Safelite team?
