Occupational Summary:
Solution Architect focuses primarily on the technical aspects of implementation, but provides input to the shaping of technical & business strategies within a multi-site/multi-business unit group. Solution Architect is responsible for leading ERP and QMS system implementation, update, and modification or expansion projects. Reports to CIO / IT Director.
Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions):
A) Responsible for a multi-site ERP implementation, strategy, planning, and data migration to deliver a reliable and scalable application.
B) Lead a team comprised of business analysts, developers, database and site administrators, consultants, function personnel and other project members to collaborate in planning, analysis, development and testing.
C) Leads and develops functional requirements, process models design, work instruction documents, gap analysis documents, implementation and migration plans.
D) Follow, utilize and adapt new technology to solve technical problems and business opportunities.
E) Drives performance related improvements to the application, database and operating system layers.
F) Document application architecture components and communicate changes throughout the user organization, supporting change management and compliance.
G) ERP contact point for software vendors/consultants to establish, create and execute deliverables.
H) Communicate with CAD/PLM team for data hand-off.
I) Develop and maintain ERP, Procedures, Methods, Data quality tools and Automation.
J) Unit, functional and acceptance testing of development and enhancements.
K) Manage issues affecting ERP at off-hours & time zones.
L) Performs other duties as assigned.
Job requirements
Qualification Requirements:
A) Knowledge and Skills:
i) Ability to understand requirements/processes and management expertise for large scale ERP design and deployment.
ii) In-depth understanding of SCM functions: Material management, Production Plan and execution, Quality Management, Service Management.
iii) Knowledge of other functions including Sales and Distribution, Financial and Management Accounting, and HRIS.
iv) Strong technical solution analysis, synthesis, design, and delivery competencies.
v) Experience in managing implementation challenges in the area of architectural, design, integration, and infrastructure.
vi) Able to conduct current-state and future-state training.
vii) Exposure to manufacturing planning and/or hand-off of PLM data (BOM) to ERP.
viii) Able to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and functional staff members.
ix) Ability to work with cross functional team consisting of developers, vendors, and business users.
x) Must possess excellent organization skills including planning and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones or completion dates.
xi) A subject matter expert in ERP configuration and manufacturing processes.
B) Education and Experience:
i) Minimum of Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree in Computer Design or Computer Science.
ii) 10 years of experience of ERP implementations with emphasis on Production Planning and SCM.
iii) Strong knowledge in experience in designing application architecture and data flow.
iv) Strong knowledge of ERP implementations, configuration, development and maintenance.
v) 3 years of experience leading and facilitating business requirements, solution definition and design, and application configuration, testing and implementation.
vi) Experience with technologies with M3, SQL Server, OCR, EDI is a plus.

Communication Skills: Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment. Ability to read and review written communication. Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.

Physical Demands: This position requires extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment. Finger dexterity needed in using misc. office equipment such as telephone, computer and copy machine, etc. Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to approximately twenty pounds are required during tasks related to the job.
