What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prn study specialist position at SAFY of America?
SAFY is seeking a PRN Home Study Specialist for our SAFY division in Mishawaka, Indiana . As a Home Study Specialist, you will be responsible for the licensing of therapeutic foster parents as defined by annual goals.
PRN Home Study Specialist may also be responsible for the recertification of foster homes as determined by treatment director.
This position is PRN meaning the schedule is flexible and "as needed".

What You’ll Do
- Perform home study of prospective treatment parent(s) and their home environment according to SAFY policy and specific requirements of the state.
- Maintain creativity, flexibility, and optimism about the strengths of the family.
- Complete home studies for families after at least three home visits / family interviews.
- Determine appropriateness of prospective foster parents and the best placement type along with the rest of the G&D and TFC Teams.
- Effectively engage all members of a potential foster family.
- Address sensitive and / or personal topics with prospective foster parents.
- Complete all documentation using a computerized clinical record and maintain central file which will consist of required paperwork.
- Attend supervision as required with the Treatment Director; attend weekly G&D meetings (if required); and meet with the Divisional Team as needed.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in the field of social work, sociology, psychology, guidance counseling, child & family studies, education, criminal justice, business administration, public administration, or other related field of human services.
- Three years of experience in working with domestic and / or international adoptions OR three years of experience in social work in a child welfare environment preferred
What We Offer
- Compensation :
- A one-time training payment of $200 for one day of onboarding training (as determined by the treatment director)
- A total of $580 per completed home study
- A total of $25 / hour for any trainings (post-onboarding) or meetings that require physical presence
- Mileage reimbursement
- Expense reimbursement
