What are the responsibilities and job description for the PRN - Skills Coach position at SAFY?
SAFY is seeking a PRN Skills Coach for our Lima Behavioral Health division in Ohio.
As a Skills Coach, you will be responsible for providing skills coaching to program youth. Skills coaching areas of focus are directly related to the goals of the youth’s treatment/intervention plan and may include strategic modeling, skill practice, and positive reinforcement in sessions.

What You’ll Do
- Provide skills training to program youth. This training may include role playing, teaching, debriefing, or other strategies.
- Establish strong relationships using modeling & coaching of social skills. Assist the youth in developing positive relational skills with peers, adults, and community members.
- Teach skills that enable youth to solve problems and engage in everyday prosocial interactions.
- Practice new behaviors in fun and reinforcing settings.
- Orient youth toward socially acceptable activities in the community.
- Document each session timely and on appropriate forms. Keep daily log of activities, contacts, intakes, and each interaction with the youth.
- Report all incidents, concerns, and issues to direct supervisor. Immediately report emergencies such as runaways, accidents, or medical problems.
- Oversee property management, including room inspections, cleanliness of facility, monitoring of youth, and following program rules, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee meal preparation with youth.

Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent
- Three years in a mental health field, with some knowledge & familiarity of behavior management principles and ways of facilitating behavior change
What We Offer
- Targeted hiring range: $13.25 - $18.35/ hr.
- Compensation is commensurate with transferrable experience, education and licensure of candidate, along with internal equity and budgeted amount for the role.
