This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Program Manager, Communications to influence and drive the experience of our participants.
This is a hybrid role, requiring the employees to be in our Burbank office 2-3x/week (or more based on business needs).
The Business Systems Analyst acts as the intermediary between the business and IT, using a deep understanding of business processes and technology to help business partners achieve their desired outcomes. This role will be key to understanding and documenting the capabilities needed to address business challenges and enabling technology to meet these challenges. This role will have a good understanding of agile methodologies and practices and will make use of that knowledge to drive projects.
The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial and technological risks. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency. Responsibilities will include a full range of activities from leading small to mid-size projects to assisting other project managers on larger more complex projects related to business functions.
The Business Systems Analyst role is a key role within the IT department as it bridges the divide between functional and technical resources helping to streamline the process.
Essential job functions:
- Identify unarticulated business needs and coordinate between stakeholder groups to address them.
- Provide consultative support on business-led technology initiatives.
- Create prototypes and co-design innovative solutions.
- Proactively monitor industry, functional, and technology trends.
- Work with business partners to elicit high-level requirements and capture business needs to understand the customer journey and define user requirements.
- Engage with business partners and influence project decisions; assess the risks of various solutions and prioritize competing business demands.
- Promote architectural consistency and usability standards; define and execute test cases.
- Identify opportunities for efficiencies and product enhancements.
- Has a sense of ownership and drives tasks to completion.
- Identify, create and facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis.
- Understand and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders.
- Assist with running the scrum process – daily stand ups, demos, retros, etc.
- Provide QA support when needed.
- Other project and program related activities as appropriate
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field as well as
equivalent work experience. - At least 5 years of experience managing IT and/or business projects.
- Must have experience working on large scale projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field as well as equivalent work
experience a plus, but not required
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge of both traditional Waterfall and Agile/Lean methodologies.
- Experience in converting business requirements and functional requirements to use cases, epics, and
user stories with acceptance criteria. - Demonstrated ability to quantify resource requirements and measure and communicate proposed project benefits.
- Strong risk assessment, problem resolution, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Demonstrated ability to engage both developers and business partners to achieve target outcomes.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point, strong relationship building skills & communication skills.
- Data analysis – Must be proficient in SQL or Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of systems engineering concepts.
- Ability to conduct cost/benefit analyses
- Business case development.
- Process flow modeling techniques and methods.
- Experience and exposure to a range of technical environments.
- Strong consensus building communication skills.
