Description
SAIC is seeking a Commercial Carrier Network Circuit Integrator to perform/coordinate integration of Carrier networks to our Government customers. As a Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA), the successful candidate will perform as a project manager and advisor for the engineering, acquisition, and deployment of an array of commercial carrier and transport solutions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Independently interact with commercial carrier network services providers to resolve network anomalies and performance issues
Perform assessments of products that meet the Customer's strategic service delivery initiatives
Provide engineering support for optical circuit design, integration, testing, and troubleshooting efforts
Develop circuit specifications, test methodologies, and exercise testing techniques to verify that circuits meet all required specifications
Perform requirements analysis, schedule reviews, and cost estimations
Conduct risk assessments and analysis of current and proposed network architectures
Develop mitigations to minimize risk of outages on services
Perform reviews and evaluations of vendor documentation, including carrier network designs and supporting technical proposals
Develop and coordinate Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Memoranda of Understandings (MOUs), and other cross-organization products
Assess carrier network health and performance
Provide technical guidance to operations and vendors, as necessary, to resolve performance issues
Act as Liaison with sites within area of responsibility
Positions are available in Las Cruces, NM or Aurora, CO and may require travel up to 25% of each year
Qualifications
Clearance required to start: TS/SCI with Polygraph
Clearance required to remain on the program: TS/SCI with Polygraph
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience
Experience may override education requirements.
Experience with recent and relevant advanced carrier telecommunications technologies
Comprehension of Open System Interconnections (OSI) layer 1 and 2 high-speed connectivity
Demonstrated understanding of communication network(s) at the physical and data layers
Strong commercial carrier troubleshooting and analytical skills in the optical carrier domain
Experience with Intelligence Community (IC) networks
Must be willing and able to travel up to 25% of the year
