SAIC is looking for Power BI Developer to join our team in Washington, DC.  This person will focus on converting business and client reporting requirements into user friendly, interactive, and easy-to-understand reports & dashboards, connecting to desktop API, SharePoint, and other data sources.

 

Job Duties

• The Power BI Developer is responsible for the design and development of Power BI solutions based on business requirements
• The SQL/Power BI Developer will understand various database technology platforms and data relationships to develop robust reporting and analytic services
• In addition, the role will adhere to and serve as a reporting resource for the organization
• The Power Bi Developer will also be responsible for the development and administration of BI tool
• They will need to transform raw data into meaningful insights through interactive and user-friendly dashboards and reports
• Interprets and executes data project requests
• Presents report data in PowerBI in a meaningful way, accessible and clear for individuals at all levels of understanding
• Develop queries, functions, stored procedures, and views to support reporting and data extraction, utilizing standards and best practices to ensure data accuracy and security
• Appropriate use of visualizations with understanding how to balance the right visuals and report complexity for the data being presented to each end-user group
• Participates in team-based problem solving and multidisciplinary team use of various data-driven process improvement techniques
• Develops best practice procedures for end users to facilitate the use of reporting tools and applications
• All other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Experience with various database platforms and cloud technology including Azure and Cloudera
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field required
• Proficient (3 years) in Developing Power BI solutions, reports, and dashboards
• Advanced proficiency with SQL and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) for the generation and extraction of data for use in analytics and reporting
• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical users to provide business solutions
• Ability to function independently and manage multiple projects
• Self-motivated and attention to detail
• Real-time streaming / Real-time Data streaming experience
• Proficient in creating complex DAX queries in Power BI Desktop & Report Builder
• Expertise in using advance level calculations on the data set
• Experience working on Power BI reports with large volumes of data
• Strong knowledge of Power BI Report Builder tool
• Hands-on experience developing complex paginated reports using Power BI Report Builder
• Knowledge of how to connect Power BI to various data sources (on-perm, cloud) and transform data Business Intelligence
