Senior Technical Architect

Description

SAIC is seeking motivated, creative, detail-oriented, and experienced Senior Technical Architect to join our energetic and versatile team  responsible for providing infrastructure compute services support for an important government customer. 

• Work closely with LPO and POs to translate the product’s vision to develop and implement Epics functionality and User Stories.
• Provide enterprise architecture expertise and significant technology and domain expertise to translate the enterprise's strategy for legacy system upgrade/migration to the desired future state including development of a transition plan 
• Uses multi-disciplinary techniques, for example: business process decomposition and redesign, information engineering, organizational redesign, change management, IT strategy and architecture, and performance measurement. 
• Interacts at a variety of points within the customer organization and program governance processes to assist in implementation of the established transition plan 
•  Researches and advises on the analysis of alternatives in the determination of upgrade, refactor, or other solution recommendations.  
• Ensures a focus on incorporation of high availability, fail-over capability, decoupling of highly connected systems, and/or cloud-based solution implementations 
• Conducts reviews and analyses of architectures to ensure compliance with transition plan and approach.  
• Provides oversight for the development and transition plans 
• Coordinates and collaborates with subject matter experts to ensure consistent application of customer mission objectives are met Leveraging domain expertise, develops comprehensive understanding of customer requirements and leads the development of a complete solution meeting all technical requirements and staffing needs for implementation of the transition plan. 
• Provides subject matter expertise to meet customer technical, schedule and cost requirements.

Qualifications

Required Education and Skills: 

• Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience
• In-depth understanding, knowledge, and experience in the following architectures:
•  Experience in designing, developing, and deploying web applications and web services
• Experience architecting applications to be deployed on physical and virtual servers under operating systems including Rocky Linux Experience in Cloud Architecture (AWS)
•  Agile Scrum Methodology using tools like Rally
• Excellent oral and written communication as well as presentation skills
• Excellent leadership skills including influencing and negotiating as well as coaching others
• Ability to obtain Public Trust

Technologies:

• PL/SQL, HTML, JSP, Java, J2EE framework, JUnit, XSL, SOAP, JDBC and XML, JBoss Service Oriented Architecture Platform (SOA-P) including JBoss Application Server, JBoss Enterprise BRMS, JBoss ESB, JBoss SEAM, JBoss Developer Studio, JBoss EAP, JBoss BPM
• AWS Architect Certification

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Azure
• Experience with GCP
