SAIC is currently seeking a Data Scientist to support the transformation of the US Army in Austin, TX.
SAIC is looking for a Senior Data Scientist/Engineer with experience building and delivering data science solutions within a DevSecOp development environment. This role will work with customers to understand their needs to deliver impactful solutions, interact with systems engineers and architects on employment of analysis and methods, and demonstrate solutions and deployment of the solutions.
Job Duties:
- Working across multiple Offices and Organizations to identify and define future capability and needs.
- Integrate operations models with acquisition models within the digital engineering ecosystem.
- Collect and track requirements tied to specific data sets and determines capacity requirements for data sets.
- Maintain data dictionaries for each data set.
- Coordinate and manage metadata/tagging of resources for enterprise discovery and sharing and provides updates to the program data management portal.
- Build production level code to collect, ingest, and visualize data in R and/or Python.
- Provide technical support to government points of contacts.
- Collaborate with SETA team members, development contractors, and customer forums.
- Effectively communicate and interface with analysts/engineers from various contractors and government organizations.
- Develop assessments and deliver briefings to a variety of audiences; conveys information in crisp, articulate manner.
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and zero (0) years related experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree.
Required Qualifications:
- Programming experience in R, Python, Matlab, Spark/PySpark, SQL, and/or other related programming languages (3 years preferred), and the ability to process and understand data pipelines between backend databases and RStudio.
- Familiarity with RStudio IDE, Github/Gitlab code repository, and databases (MongoDB, Azure), and the ability to develop Shiny applications using RStudio preferred.
- Additional skills with modeling in various platforms to build statistically sound models. Working experience in descriptive statistics and statistical methods with applications in machine learning (e.g., correlation, regression, clustering) is a plus.
- Experience delivering end-to-end data science projects, starting with project plan, through data modelling & data integrity checks to delivering value with explainable results.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Customer focused and capable of representing the customer in community forums.
Desired Qualifications:
- Graph network experience.
- Knowledge of Machine Learning and AI algorithms and procedures.
- Knowledge of DoD acquisition and JCIDS processes.
- MA/MS with 3 to 6 years of experience.
Required Clearance:
- Must have an Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
