Description
SAIC is seeking an IAM Operations Lead to join our dynamic team supporting the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs:
Under minimal direction, lead, plan, coordinate and execute sustainment activities with Government Full Time Employees (FTEs), the Development Team Operations Lead, System and Database Administrators, System Engineers, Data Center Staff, Configuration Manager, Project Management Office (PMO) Teams, and Development Teams. Develop plans and make recommendations to the VA Data Center Project Manager on actions to ensure Identity and Access Management (IAM) Services are available to consuming applications in the production environment. Establish appropriate metrics for measuring key operations criteria. Support migration of sustainment patches, upgrades, and enhancements from one environment to the other by participating in the planning, configuration, testing, and release activities associated with increment, sustainment, and break fix code releases. Identify, develop, and execute strategies to improve operational efficiencies and reduce costs and risks. Identify and mitigate risks and advise senior management about sustainment risks. Utilize multiple project management and configuration tools which include VA Project Asset Library (PAL) templates, MS Project, Visio, SharePoint, JIRA, and ServiceNow. Adhere to quality management standards and procedures. Manage changes in operational plans. Possess good oral and written communication skills.
Specifics duties:
- Coordinate, execute, document, and report on environment operations, maintenance, release, and configuration management activities required to support the operation and release of IAM functionality
- Work with consuming applications, data center teams, development teams and Project Managers to resolve operational defects
- Manage major ops/other initiatives as directed by IAM Program Manager
- Track Lower Environment unassigned and overdue tickets
- Manage DQE instance refreshes for DGIB/BAT teams
- Track open vendor tickets
- Track open IAM taskers
- Prepare Operations and Maintenance technical and non-technical reports as requested
- Review, update, and maintain Data Center Service Level Agreement (SLA)/Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
- Review Development Team Sustainment deliverables
- Facilitate and document daily IAM Data Call (DC) briefings and IAM Ops weekly scrum
- Attend briefings and meetings for Operations awareness to include: Security, ECSO touchpoint, Build iteration schedule, Vendor ticket reviews, DGIB/BAT, and IAM tech review
- Facilitate/document/prep VA operations calls in project manager’s absence
- Enforce and adhere to operational, release, and configuration processes and procedures
- Review and approve contractor release management plans, checklists, configuration, and code
- Verify readiness of release through release review process
- Use Jira and ServiceNow tools for Issue, Change, and Configuration management
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures library
- Develop operational, release, and configuration procedures and processes.
- Develop sustainment documents to include but not limited to meeting agendas, meeting minutes, schedules, risk and issue management plans, status reports, and position papers and presentations
- Manage access privileges in the Software Quality Assurance, Pre-Production and Production environments and the project SharePoint site
- Other tasks as directed by VA program manager, or VA Operations project manager
- Support VA program manager, VA operations project manager, and VA COR as needed.
Qualifications
Education and Years Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Management Information System, Systems Engineering.
- The Operations Lead must have at least 9 years’ experience planning and executing activities required to sustain IT services in a production environment.
- Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance under the Department of Veteran Affairs regulations

- Enterprise understanding of software development life-cycle within a portfolio of applications and services
- Enterprise experience sustaining the operation of multiple technical environments in a cloud environment

- Ability to facilitate system operations, development, and management teams toward coordinated consensus and action plans
- Thorough understanding of process surrounding release management, promotion and migration of application software between various levels of development, testing, and production environments
- Experience deploying software applications to production
- Experience reviewing release and installation documentation from a quality assurance and completeness perspective
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
- Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Visio, Jira, and Service Now.
Target salary range: $105,001 - $115,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
