SAIC is looking for a IT Security Co-op at NASA Goddard SFC for the Exploration & In-space Services Projects Division (NExIS; https://nexis.gsfc.nasa.gov/ ) is a multifaceted team that continues the legacy of the Hubble Space Telescope Servicing Missions, advancing new technologies for robotic and human servicing and exploration. We are looking for self-motivated individuals with a passion for helping others and an interest in IT Security to assist with a variety of tasks, including:
- Basic user support with administrative applications and network connections
- Documentation clean up and review
- Tracking completion of Continuous Monitoring activities
- Daily/Weekly Dashboard configuration and monitoring for AntiVirus, Vulnerability, and Auditing activities
- Consolidating Vulnerability reports for use by Division administrators
Qualifications
Required Education:
- High School and two (2) or more years of college coursework in a technical field
Desired Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems, work independently, and take initiative
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with Windows 10 and MacOS, Linux would be a plus
- Comfort with computer laptop hardware troubleshooting
- Office 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Planner and PowerPoint
- Ability to use GitHub is a plus
- Ability to use Splunk, Symantec End Point protection, Nessus Vulnerability Scanner, and Big Fix would be a plus
- NIST 800 Series for Computer Security (800-53 controls, etc)
Clearance:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
