Description

Position Description:

SAIC is seeking a Network Analyst to support a 24x7x365 Network Operations Center (NOC).

Analysts will be responsible for monitoring network dashboards, analyzing problems, troubleshooting, coordinating, and reporting of all operational information concerning an enterprise network infrastructure. The position requires significant experience in customer service and the ability to remain calm, tolerant and professional in a stressful and demanding environment.

Position Responsibilities:

• Provide Tier II investigation and diagnosis of all incidents, logging all details and prioritization codes for all incidents in a 24x7x365 Network Operations Center.
• Conduct technical services and support at the Tier II level, including WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security.
• Promptly assign unresolved incidents to higher Tier support or IT service providers to coordinate restoration of service and obtain the necessary information for recording/tracking the outage or degradation of service.
• Support customer incident management bridges and calls
• Keep component NOCs informed of their incident’s status at agreed intervals and continuously update incidents as needed.
• Notify Govt Leads and other stakeholders of high impact/priority failures using the appropriate escalation procedures
• Support customer-wide network infrastructure to meet network requirements by monitoring performance and availability and tuning network infrastructure to meet SLAs for LAN, WAN, etc.
• Nights and weekend shift work is required (24x7x365).

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience:

• Typically requires at least 3 year of relevant routing/switching experience in an enterprise network operations center environment and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Experience with Cisco command line interface and configuration
• Strong customer service and strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Experience with network management tools, security management tools, traffic analysis tools, including NetFlow and NetFlow collectors, network management tools, Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Wireshark, ServiceNow, Solarwinds, Cisco Prime, MRTG, Fluke
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Willingness to share information sharing with other team members and customers.
• Knowledge of structured cable plant, including fiber, copper, network devices, firewalls, servers, enclosures, & blades, and various data center equipment/devices
• Willingness to work a flexible work schedule including after hours and weekends
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance

Desired Experience/Skills/Attributes:

• Cisco Certification (CCNA) preferred/desired.
• understanding and experience in troubleshooting tools such as protocol analyzers and bandwidth utilization reports. Good knowledge of packet capture, and other tools, etc.
• Understanding of VLANS, spanning tree protocols, switching and routing protocols.
• Extensive customer service skills and experience.
• Strong documentation skills-to document case management, knowledge capture, defect management and lessons learned.
• Understanding of ITIL service delivery concepts

Target salary range: $75,001 - $100,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
