Description
The Experimentation and Training Division of SAIC currently has an opening for a Logistician supporting the Maneuver Battle Lab (MBL) located in Ft. Benning, GA.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- The candidate chosen will be the Logistician of the MBL Supply Section.
- Responsible for the management and control of all material and equipment assigned to MBL.
- Responsible for the MBL's Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDA), Installation and Research & Development property.
- Responsibilities include supporting MBL Project Officers in conducting experiments/exercises/demonstrations, inventory integrity of material and equipment, maintaining warehouse and common supplies used on a reoccurring basis, and maintaining inventory of consumable items and special material/equipment needed for specific experiments.
- Responsible for the MBL's Arms Room with functions as security, weapons receipts, issue and storage, and cleanliness of the space.
- Responsible for pickup, store, issue and turn-in of ammunitions and weapons from the Fort Benning Ammunition Supply Point and Weapons Pool, respectively as well as special ammunition and weapons that are pushed to MBL by program personnel for use in experiments.
- Responsible for utilization of the Auto Scan Tracking System (ASTS), the inventory control system used by MBL, to conduct inventories of TDA, Installation Property and Research & Development material and equipment, updating records, and bar-coding equipment when it arrives at MBL sites.
- Obtain material/equipment from the Supply System, and DRMO.
- Obtain material/equipment utilizing credit card, as well as shipping and disposal of material and equipment.
- Responsible for Hazardous Materials and management of the equivalent of a small warehouse.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- High School and five (5) years or more Logistics Management or related field
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Candidate must have logistics and supply knowledge.
- Must have computer skills and be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communications skills and interpersonal skills are required.
- Candidate must be customer oriented as well as have the ability to operate independently.
- Excellent reasoning skills are required.
- Candidates must be physically able to work in field environments, day or night, and under adverse weather conditions and be able to lift 50 pounds.
SECURITY CLEARANCE:
- Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain the interim SECRET security clearance and be able to obtain the full Secret security clearance. SAIC will assist with the process of obtaining the interim Secret clearance for the qualified candidate.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Prior military experience especially in Army logistics.
- Strong knowledge of PBUSE and other Logistics Systems.
- Strong working knowledge of DA PAM 710-2, DA PAM 710-2-1, DA PAM 710-2-2 and all equipment turn-in procedures.
