SAIC is seeking a Microsoft Power BI Senior Developer with experience working with customers gathering requirements, connecting to and transforming data, designing and building scalable data models, and enabling advanced analytic capabilities for end users. Much of the day-to-day job responsibilities will be focused on migrating content from Oracle's Business Objects and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to Microsoft's cloud-hosted Power BI Service environment. As part of these migration efforts, firsthand experience is key in working with legacy systems and modernizing the content through the use of these applications: Power BI Service, Power BI Desktop, Power Query, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI Report Builder.

Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the customer understanding and fulfilling their reporting requirements
- Actively engage in business stakeholder requirements gathering sessions to understand, interpret and translate requirements, document user stories, and design an effective end-to-end technical solution
- Develop, implement and support solutions curated and deployed with Power BI
- Core functional aspects of this include: connecting to various data sources, transforming data using Power Query, ensuring the data is modeled properly and creating a highly visual and highly intuitive experience for end users
- Publishing reports to the Power BI service, managing them through distribution of apps, establishing the needed authentications, and scheduling an automated refresh schedule
- Migrate legacy reports from SSRS and Business Objects to the Power BI Service
- Educate and train business stakeholders on deployed solutions by establishing knowledge base articles and user guides, hosting live training sessions, and other methods to ensure successful adoption by the business groups
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science; Business; Mathematics or any other applied sciences and two (2) years' experience working directly with Power BI or similar tools - 5 plus years of overall IT experience preferred
- Experience working with other aspects of Microsoft's Power Platform and Office 365 suite - Power Apps, Power Automate, Excel, etc.
- Any amount of experience with migration of reports from legacy platforms, with an emphasis on Oracle's Business Objects and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Demonstrated excellence in analytical thinking and problem solving
- Strong communicator with demonstrated experience working closely with customers on requirements and execution
Desired Qualifications:
- Direct experience migrating legacy reports to the Power BI Service environment
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in a sprint delivery model
- Experience with Business Objects or SSRS
Target salary range: $100,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
