Description
SAIC is seeking a proven Senior Systems Cloud Engineer to join the Enterprise Cloud Management Agency (ECMA) Cloud Enterprise Technology Services (CETS) program and the opportunity to evaluate and potentially re-invent how the Army delivers IT services and make use of data and analytics to meet mission requirements. The CETS program provides Information Technology services and technical subject matter expertise (SME) for the Army ECMA to support overall strategy and migration to the cARMY environment up to Department of Defense (DoD) Impact Level (IL) 6. This position is your opportunity to utilize your skills and background as a Senior Systems Cloud Engineer and deliver support to the warfighting mission with cutting edge cloud application migration and business process refinement for the US Army.
This position is contingent upon contract award which is expected February 2025.
This position is a hybrid position; however, candidate must be able to be on customer site at Fort Belvoir when needed so must be local to the Fort Belvoir, VA area. Relocation assistance may be provided.
Performs design and implementation of IT systems that require the integration of diverse and complex components. Activities include creating a problem statement, defining operational requirements including integration with other systems or components, researching and modeling the system architecture and configuration, investigation alternatives, cost analysis and estimation, and decision analysis. Ensures the logical ad systematic conversion of requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate requirements into hardware and software specification. Provides specific, detailed information for selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements, facility requirements (including floor layout, power cooling, network connectivity), data storage, backup, monitoring, operations systems, directory services, identity management, access management, and automation.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to development of new principles and concepts. Participates with senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. Recommends/makes decisions on administrative or project work matters and ensures effective achievement of program, project, or organizational objectives.
PROBLEM COMPLEXITY Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions, which are highly innovative and ingenious.
FREEDOM TO ACT Works under consultative direction toward pre-determined long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated. Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Work checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by formal review of supervisor. Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
IMPACT Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically results in failure to achieve critical organizational objectives and affect image of organization's technological capability.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BS degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Physics or Mathematics
- Fifteen years’ experience in designing and implementing information management systems may substitute for academic degree
- 10 years experience designing and implementing information management systems
- 3 years, within the past 5 years of experience in product development, requirements generation, and testing methodologies, including direct control and responsibility over subordinate engineers working requirements, design, implementation, and testing of distributed cloud applications and services
- 3 years, within the past 5 years of experience in development, implementation, and administration of multi-tenant, enterprise web-based solutions using automated processes and tools to perform system availability and integrity monitoring, validate security and configuration compliance, and ensure sensitive data protection
- 3 years, within the past 5 years of experience with commercial cloud service providers engineering solutions in a Linux and Windows multi-tenant environment on commercial cloud services (Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure, and/or if needed for the new CSPs)
- Must have a Secret clearance
- Must have one of the following certifications CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, Security CE, CND, SSCP
