What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admission Coordinator position at Saint Therese?
Saint Therese of New Hope is transitioning to Woodlake Healthcare on 8/1/2024, and we are looking for a full-time Admissions Coordinator (RN/LPN/Social Worker) to join our team! The position is full-time working 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities: Manages, plans and organizes all patient admissions under the supervision of the Director of Nursing.
Special Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Demonstrates knowledge of Medicare, HMOs, and Managed Care.

Ability to communicate with and use outside resources for questions related to regulations, Medicare, HMOs, and other insurances.

Good written and verbal communication skills

Time management and prioritization skills.

Ability to multitask.

Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with nursing staff and other departments including Social Services, Rehab, Business Office, Staffing and Medical Records.

Displays willingness to make decisions with sound and accurate judgment and is able to explain reasoning for decisions
Qualifications:
Education: Successful completion of an approved program for an Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse or completion of a degree in social work.
Experience: Minimum three years long-term care experience preferred. Experience in clinical assessments and evaluating care needs, preparation of care plans, insurance authorizations and Medicare/Managed Care guidelines.
