Job Purpose:
Our next mentor will provide training and support that ensures case managers have the knowledge and skills to do their job effectively. By providing a solid foundation and support to case managers allows SaintA to carry out our vision where every child and family can thrive.
Duties:
- Consistently trains, models, coaches how to monitor the safety of children as the priority of all work and is able to assess for present and impending dangers, and the general safety of children in a variety of environments and articulate findings to others and document as required.
- Facilitate SaintA’s internal training program, including facilitating progress reports, safety assessments, presentations, safety exam, and any other portion of the training program.
- Train, coach, and model how to facilitate and monitor permanency planning for children and behavioral change planning for adult case participants by ensuring that families have the opportunity to enhance parental protective capacities that impact child safety by creating goals with families, effectively and timely connecting families to resources to help them meet their goals, continuously measuring progress, and clearly articulating what specific outcome is to be achieved in accordance with the Comprehensive Assessment Process.
- Teach, train, coach, and model how to Identify and provide referral to appropriate community and providers, authorize network services or non-network providers only when the service is not covered by other insurances and the service will support achievement of the identified goals.
- Teach, train, and model how to meet performance outcomes as specified by Federal/State/DMCPS/Agency.
- Facilitate classroom training and update or write curriculum in adherence with Ongoing Standards.
- Works collaboratively with child welfare supervisors and leadership team
- Supports the integration of trainees into their assigned Supervisory Teams. Has ongoing communication with trainees’ Supervisors to report progress, concerns, and other relevant information.
- Takes initiative, acts quickly and independently when the situation demands it; sees a need and takes appropriate action without being prompted or reminded; demonstrates ability to effectively deal with crisis situations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree/ Master’s Preferred in social work, criminal justice, sociology, psychology, or a related field.
- It is preferred that BSWs are certified by the state of Wisconsin as a Certified Social Worker within 18 months of hire.
- It is preferred that Non BSWs need to complete approved training program within 24 months of hire and obtain state certification by 36 months of hire.
- 3 years minimum experience in child welfare/child and family services preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English or Hmong/Laotian is preferred.
- Valid WI State Driver’s license.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively with families experiencing child safety issues and other related areas of need.
