Saint JFX- St. Joseph Early Childhood Campus in Wilmette is seeking a joyful, flexible, and organized school nurse to work Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays: 7:30am-3:30pm.
This is a job share position with our other school nurse who will be working Mondays and Tuesdays. You'll be working under the direction of the Principal, Assistant Principal, and Director of Early Childhood.
Start date: January 2024. This position goes until June 14th, 2024 with the potential for continuing in the 2024-2025 school year running August 2024- June 2025.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing Degree or higher
- At least one year of nursing experience required
- Must be able to find joy and humor in a preschool environment
- Flexible/growth mindset
- Able to work independently and collaboratively
- Able to prioritize tasks based on importance of task and immediate need
- Able to keep information confidential
- Communicate politely and effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Comply with Virtus, Mandated Reporter, CPR, and other trainings, as needed
- Computer Skills Needed: Proficient in Google systems (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides)
Main Duties:
- Manage daily nurse office tasks, ie. student attendance checks, attend to student medical needs
- Communicate politely and effectively with parents, teachers, office staff, etc.
- Monitor nurse's office email account and respond appropriately
- Communicate with Kinder-8th gr. nursing team via phone and email regarding dual campus families and updated COVID policies from Archdiocese
- Exude a friendly, polite, outgoing, helpful, kind, and joyful demeanor
- Help students change clothes after potty accidents
- Keep up to date daily communication logs between you and our other nurse
Supplementary Duties:
- Create student medical files
- Connect with parents regarding missing forms, documents, etc.
- Keep accurate patient logs
- Help direct student and vehicle traffic during arrival and dismissal
- Schedule and coordinate with outside vendors/contractors, i.e. hearing/vision screening
- Direct parents and faculty to the correct source of information
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Job Type: Part-time
