What This Position Is All About:
The AVP, Strategy & Business Operations (Chief of Staff) reports to the CEO of Saks and leads the building, implementing and overseeing operations, processes and procedures for the Office of the CEO at Saks. This person will take a leadership role in overseeing and managing the development and implementation of high priority strategic business initiatives. This is a high visibility role within Saks and the management team and requires a motivated individual with a sense of ownership and demonstrated high performance in previous roles.

You also have:
Bachelor's degree
5-7 years of retail leadership, management consulting or similar experience
Strong communicator and writer
Strong ability to mobilize resources and manage-up to execute initiatives, resulting in measurable impact
Excellent PowerPoint and strong Excel skills, as well as Google Suite
Strong critical thinking and decision making skills
A positive, can-do attitude, determined to achieve set goals
Demonstrated ability to maintain polish and work well under pressure
Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and, if hired, present proof of vaccination prior to beginning employment.
As the AVP, Strategy & Business Operations you will:
Partner with the CEO and management team to develop materials for regular meetings, including leadership meetings and company-wide meetings
Drive and prepare for key governance meetings and activities, including meetings with highest levels of management and Board meetings
Participate in critical, high level meetings with top management; own development of agenda and materials, take notes and conduct follow-up correspondence
Support ongoing administration of the business
Participate in ongoing strategy and culture development work
Drive and improve key business processes
Support the CEO with key competitive research and insights
Conduct business analyses to support strategic initiatives
Draft communications from CEO and senior leaders
Partner with Communications team to ensure CEO is prepared for all internal and external speaking engagements, supporting with research and input
Oversee successful development and implementation of major initiatives and strategies
Develop cross-functional partnerships to support key strategic initiatives as needed
Operate as a thought partner for leadership and partners across the organization
Drive organizational engagement events for the Office of the CEO
Support with ad hoc activities as required for the Office of the CEO and management team
Prepare daily briefings and materials for CEO, ensuring they are organized and well informed for all meetings and engagements
