Title I Summer Enrichment Program
Teachers - Rising Grades 1-6
(12 Positions Total)
Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts teacher certification in elementary/early childhood education.
- Successful teaching experience.
- Willingness to implement standards based curriculum in Literacy and Mathematics.
- Ability to relate /communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and
administrators.
- Experience working in the Malden Public Schools is preferred.
- Applicants must commit to being present for each day of the program. See dates below for more info.
- ESL Licence or SEI Endorsement preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer and score pre/post tests and write anecdotal evaluations.
- Participate in two staff development meetings.
- Plan with other educators during the 30-min. ‘Prep’ period each morning from 8:00-8:30 am.
- Implement rigorous and standards-based lessons using core curricular materials as well as targeted, Tier 2 interventions in literacy and math.
- Complete planning logs for each session and maintain student attendance records.
- Keep folders/portfolios with student work.
- Perform other related activities as required.
Duration:
Program Administration and Implementation 82 hours total to include the following:
· Professional In-service Days June 27 - 28 (5 hours each day).
· 18 days, Monday-Thursday, from July 5 – August 3 (8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.).
· 30-min prep period from 8:00-8:30
· Please note the first week of the program will run Wednesday and Thursday ONLY (7/5-7/6).
Stipend: $37 an hour, $3,034.00 total
