The global Employee Learning & Development (ELD) team develops results-driven and inclusive employees, leaders, & teams with the critical approaches, behaviors, & skills needed to enable Salesforce's growth, profitability, and customer success in a healthy and sustainable way. This team designs and delivers development programs, owns the global coaching philosophy and related services, deploys a range of resources to equip teams for high performance, and builds communities of practice for Salesforce executives to connect and grow.
The ELD team provides relevant and impactful learning programs and experiences for our four key global audiences: Individual Contributors (IC's), Leaders of IC's, Leaders of Leaders, and Executives (VP ). We design for outcomes that matter to drive business results while providing opportunities for connection that strengthen our commitment to Salesforce and each other.
This Director is directly responsible for ensuring the successful design and delivery of development experiences for leaders at every level. As a primary focus, this position will focus on building out the leadership development journey for Salesforce's Executives (VP ). A trusted advisor to the business, the ELD Director draws on deep learning design/facilitation experience, strong eye for business, and substantive subject-matter expertise on leadership development to develop innovative learning and development experiences that produce measurable impact and support the talent pipeline of a fast-paced, high-growth company.
Responsibilities
Serves as one of ELD's subject matter authorities regarding what Salesforce needs from its most senior leaders, as well as what these leaders need in order to grow and perform at their best in a sustainable and healthy way
Provides the day-to-day management of leadership development experiences, including overall responsibility for strategy, design, delivery, evaluation, and ongoing relationship management with internal and external collaborators and partners
Collaborates with 1-3 team members to design and deliver the above mentioned experiences to Salesforce's senior leaders,
Facilitates development sessions, interactive meetings, and ELD achievement programs via multiple modalities to diverse audiences.
Consults with business executives to understand and address their development needs, identifies appropriate sponsorship for initiatives and programs, and ensures alignment with business partners
Provides both strategic and operational support for a mix of innovative development, teaming, and coaching programs, including budget, vendor, and partner management
Develops specific evaluation and assessment tools to measure impact, including: business results, ROI, enhanced talent pipeline, and improved behaviors clearly proven
Drives continuous improvement, innovation, accountability, and scalability of development initiatives
Develops and maintains learning assets, curriculum, and an array of executive development standard methodologies that align with organizational goals and values
Acts as mentor and coach to colleagues and emerging facilitators, coaches, and development practitioners across the business
Leads multi-stakeholder special projects as needed, including developing project teams, handling priorities, and delivering results
Qualifications
Education
Senior leadership development subject matter expertise required
Applicable facilitation and coaching certification(s) strongly desired
Master's degree or graduate certificate in Business Administration, Leadership/Organization Development (OD), or equivalent experience
Experience & Skills
10 years of dynamic Leadership/OD/OE experience within large organizations or equally sophisticated environments
Expert facilitator capable of consistently and optimally influencing senior leaders
Deep knowledge of leadership and organization development, change theories, learning models and standard processes, instructional design strategies, and learning assessment - and a natural curiosity for using groundbreaking practices
Extensive experience delivering leadership development programs and courses in multiple modalities, including high-touch face-to-face and live-online using a variety of technologies that integrate horizontal and vertical development
Ability to establish a strong presence with leaders at all levels
Track record of driving positive organizational change in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication, influencing, and partner leadership skills
Excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
Travel ~25%
