6th Grade Teacher
SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Principal, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Education/Certification
- Certification/License: K-8 all subjects, (self-contained classroom)
- State of Michigan Certification as an Elementary Teacher
- Bachelors from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignments
- Possess experience with computer instruction and technology.
- Possess the skills and desire to work in a collaborative team with others.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the teacher's role in a team environment.
Preferred Experience
- Two years of experience in related field
- Prior training in diversity, equity, and inclusion.

- Use computer network systems and software applications as needed.

- Communicate effectively with students and parents/guardians.
- Engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directs Teaching Assistant(s) / Paraeducators on a day-to-day basis.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
