Summary of Position
Sam Schwartz is seeking a Human Resources Generalist (HRG). We are looking for a highly skilled and ambitious candidate to join our HR team. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible, in consultation with the Director of Human Resources, for the administration of a range of HR services such as onboarding, offboarding, benefits, employee relations, performance management, career development, and HRIS maintenance.

Responsibilities:
- The primary function is to provide day-to-day support to all levels of employees, and management and assist with projects and processes across a full range of HR functions.
- Placement of recruitment ads and postings at both internally and externally sources
- Coordinates Company’s internship program; posts open positions, schedules information sessions, and candidate interviews at key colleges/universities.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employment eligibility verifications.
- Generates offer letters and new hire packets for prospective candidates.
- Conducts new hire orientation – ensures all new hire information is uploaded to HRIS and appropriate forms submitted to respective vendors
- Generates PTO reports for all employees and distributes them to managers.
- Coordinates with the HR Director, in-house and outside training classes for employees (DEI&B, Harassment, Compliance, IT training).
- Prepares exit packet for the terminated employee; including calculated unused accrued vacation pay, benefits, return of Company equipment, etc.
- Conducts exit interviews and tracks reasons/trends for leaving the organization
- Responsible for the maintenance of all personnel files in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
- Coordinates and collaborates with payroll administrator on the input of new hires, employee salary changes, title changes, and address changes.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Assists in special projects as needed and all other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and conflict management skills

- Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Responsive to employee needs while maintaining professionalism, respect, and consideration of others

- Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Experience with office applications and software, as well as Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of human resources management experience or a combination of education and work experience
