Summary & Key Responsibilities Responsible for data management and reporting activities that track and support department goals and objectives. Identifies and communicates insights and provides input to project teams. May lead small projects. The opportunity to work on various projects involving big data, traditional databases, unstructured data, curation, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning and a knack for wrangling data. Provides data support to sales, product management, finance, actuarial and modeling departments. Key Responsibilities Responsible for the business design and implementation effort for assigned data and methods to access the data. Maintain the core data warehouse by understanding data and analytics needs of the area in which the position supports. Run and build reports as necessary to support business unit. Track and monitor business unit goals and profitability through use of data. Minimum Experience/Education: Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or information systems field, and/or equivalent experience. 3-5 years’ experience in data science, data mapping, integration, database design and analytical reporting required. Strong analytical capability required. Demonstrated knowledge of statistical software required. Experience in the P&C Insurance industry preferred. Communication and Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to work and communicate effectively on cross-functional, internal and external teams. Effectively communicate and translate data findings and interpretations. Self-starter with strong work ethic, able to work independently and as part of a team. Strong business collaboration skills, responsiveness to service needs and operational demands required. Problem Solving: Strong data, analytical, problem solving, critical thinking skills, and attention to detail. Technical Knowledge: Advanced SQL skills required. Demonstrated ability and interest in continuously learning data and analytical software is critical. Python/Pandas skills preferred. Experience with C#, Java, R, and/or SAS is a plus. Experience with data visualization techniques and user data access tools such as Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight, and/or Qlikview is a plus.
