Position Details

 

Child & Family West Michigan serves many vulnerable families and is searching for a Utilization Manager. 

The Utilization Manager works collaboratively with foster care leadership to achieve internal outcomes as well as Key Performance Indicators

identified by contract and policy requirements.

This person also provides insight and analysis of trends, data, and best practice, as it relates to family engagement, service delivery,

client outcomes and quality performance.

 

This is a full time role that offers a salary of $54,600 annually.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Participate in program planning, goal setting, outcomes evaluation and measurement, and continuous quality improvement initiatives with the Director
  • Provide leadership to staff, including supervisors. Manage the operations of assigned program, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulatory and quality assurance standards and state, contract, and organization policy and procedures
  • Partner with Human Resources in staff attraction and retention efforts, including hiring, onboarding, coaching and counseling and performance management. Ensure delegation of responsibility and accountability
  • Function as a member of the foster care leadership team
  • Audit case records at least quarterly to ensure completeness and compliance with prescribed service and licensing standards, and ensure compliance with COA case review process
  • Provide leadership to foster care teams related to Samaritas’ quality assurance process
  • Develop and maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of community resources; network with community agencies
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with administrators and comparable personnel at other agencies; represent the organization in interagency context and serve on committees as assigned
  • Assist in the maintenance of information and data management systems by providing information and statistical reports as required

    Qualifications

     

    Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

     

    • Master's Degree in a Human Services related field with one year supervisory experience and three years’ experience as a social services worker; OR
    • Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services related field with two years supervisory experience and three years’ experience as a social service worker
    • State of Michigan licensure preferred

     

    Additional Work Requirements

     

    • Participate, as required, in a system of 24 hour availability to persons served. Flexible work schedule that may include extended hours
    • Unrestricted valid driver’s license with good driving record. Reliable personal transportation suitable for safely transporting persons served; proof of current automobile insurance
