The Opportunity
As an intern you will work closely with the field crew chiefs, CAD technicians, instrument technicians, and project managers. You will get to experience all aspects of surveying:
- Be part of a field crew working on existing conditions to construction staking
- Work on the computer doing drafting for boundary comps and completing existing conditions surveys
- Assist with proposals and help with legal descriptions

Start Date: Flexible- start part-time in the fall/winter to get trained up before the summer busy season preferred
The qualified candidate will:
- Assist a field crew member to the crew chief- eventually learning the equipment so you are able to take a turn learning on the job experience
- Work with Project Managers to understand project scope, budgets, and schedules
- Review engineering plans
- Review work and quality control field survey data (data files and field notes)
- Understand and eventually operate a GPS and total stations with the data collector (Trimble equipment such as: S5, S6, SX-12, R10, R12, and TSC 7)
- Maintain productive working relationships with all clients and coworkers
- Adhere to the company's safety, QA/QC, and surveying policies
- Draft in AutoCAD 2022
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing an Associate's degree in Survey, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Basic MS Office Suite computer skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Valid drivers license required
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
- Ability to carry survey equipment and supplies in remote, rural, or urban surroundings
- Ability to work outdoors in all seasons of weather
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk long distances
- Assist in staking lath, irons, hubs, clear brush, chip ice, etc.
