The Opportunity
The Practice Leader works directly with clients and the DFW team to deliver projects in the Commercial and Residential Land Development market. You will oversee the project managers that deliver the work and collaborate with the client service managers to secure new project opportunities. This is a tremendous opportunity for the right person to help continue the expansion of our Land Development office in Dallas.
Work Location: Hybrid, local to Dallas-- in office 3-5 days per week to work closely with and lead the local production team
The qualified candidate will:
- Provide leadership to Dallas office operations and growth initiatives
- Mentor Project Managers
- Work with the Division Director and Client Service Managers to prepare one- and three-year business plans
- Work with MN/TX Business Unit Leader to prepare the annual budget
- Represent Sambatek at meetings with cities, clients, and external project team members
- Build and grow a production team-- leading hiring and recruiting in collaboration with the HR team
- Provide day to day guidance to project team staff
Qualifications
- Strong leadership qualities
- A drive to exceed expectations and win over clients
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer license in Texas
- 10 years of consulting experience in land development
- Effective written and verbal communication is necessary and independent judgment is essential
- Good mentoring skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Possess the ability to change focus quickly during a typical day
- Positive and solution-oriented approach to problems
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment
- Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds
