PROJECT MANAGER/ENGINEER
Project Manager/Engineer position is a licensed professional engineer with 3 years of design
experience post licensure. Personnel in this position coordinate the different project
phases with non-licensed personnel and technical staff, manage their own individual
projects and maintains the organizations production standard level of service and quality.
Project Manager works closely with the Director to provide oversight, guidance, and
leadership to the team of professional services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management and Leadership
- Maintain client satisfaction and customer service is held as a top priority across
- the team.
- Work with management to established department goals, develop strategic plan
- and lead its execution.
- Develop new and maintain current client relationships for business development.
- Review proposals for subdivision development projects, engineering design
- projects, surveying services and request for qualification.
- Prioritize workload and schedule work activities among team as needed to meet
- project schedules.
- Attend project, council, board meetings as required for project review and/or
- reporting of progression to client/owner.
- Clearly communicate project details with supervisors, co-workers, subordinates
- and clients.
- Work with Project Coordinator to submit project monthly deliverables.
- Conduct weekly project coordination meetings.
- Hold continual education has a high priority for professional and technical
- knowledge, licenses and certifications for self and team.
- Comply with and enforce all governmental laws, policies and regulations.
- Ensure that all company policies and standard operating procedures are adhered
- to the team.
- Encourage by example high productivity, morale and the benefits of teamwork.
- Develop and implement a team training program.
- All other duties assigned by management.
- Design & Technical Oversight
- Coordinate the production of design projects from proposal phase to final design
- Submittal, may include civil, mechanical, structural engineering.
- Oversee and review the development of project bid documents, contract
- documents and technical specifications.
- Provide intermediate reviews and quality control of project design/construction
- plans and specifications.
- Maintain familiarity as an individual and as a team on State and Local entity design
- regulations and compliance codes.
- Review progressive schedules and estimates of projects throughout design phase.
- Review and provide direction on drainage reports for approval by local reviewing
- entity.
- Provide production team with technical knowledge and guidance for successful
- project completion.
- Conduct periodic field observations to ensure compliance to project plans and
- specifications.
- Identify areas of team improvement and plan of action.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Project Manager/Engineer is required to demonstrate computer literacy and proficiency with
Microsoft Office software, AutoCAD 3D and/or Micro-Station, have obtained a 4-year
degree in engineering, has obtained professional licensure, and has 3 years of
experience in civil engineering related field. The Project Engineer position requires
reliability, leadership, thoroughness with details, Fast learner, promotes Teamwork, Able
to work with minimal supervision, efficiently schedule and manage his/her time and those
of the team and Excellent communication skills
